HB 3 School Board Goals
Poteet Independent School District
Under House Bill 3 (HB 3), school boards are required to adopt district plans focused on Early Childhood Literacy and Mathematics and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR). These plans are designed to support student achievement and long-term success across all campuses.
Each plan must include:

At least one assigned district-level administrator, or an employee of the regional education service center, to coordinate implementation and submit an annual progress report to the Board of Trustees

An annual review by the Board of Trustees during a public meeting

An annual report is posted on the district and campus websites

Specific, measurable annual goals for five years for each campus
Early Childhood Literacy and Mathematics Plan
The Early Childhood plan for Poteet ISD includes:

Annual goals for overall student growth on 3rd-grade reading and mathematics STAAR assessments

Annual performance targets for student groups evaluated under the Closing the Gaps domain

Targeted professional development for kindergarten through 3rd-grade teachers on campuses identified as not meeting plan goals, with consideration for students in bilingual education or special language programs

Annual targets for students participating in bilingual or ESL programs
College, Career, and Military Readiness Plan
The CCMR plan for Poteet ISD includes:
